Sometimes in life, great things come from tragedies. This is true for Hést.

We, Anne-Kari, Monica, and Märtha Louise, came together through both loss and love.
In 2019, Anne-Kari lost her husband, Esben Johannessen, to pancreatic cancer. He was not only her life partner, but also a dear friend of Märtha Louise. His passing connected us in an unexpected way, and out of that deep pain, something new was born.

Monica had always carried a dream and a talent for designing and re-designing clothes. As friends, we started to imagine what it would be like to build something together—something beautiful, lasting, and rooted in passion. What began as conversations of support quickly turned into action. And so, Hést was created.

Changing our career paths completely to start a clothing brand may have felt sudden from the outside, but for us, it was a natural step forward. Together, we discovered that our combined energy and creativity were nothing short of dynamite. Hést has grown from hard work, resilience, and genuine passion—and it stands as living proof of what can happen when women come together to align their talents, dreams, and courage.

We believe too many women hold back from pursuing what they truly long for. With Hést, we want to inspire others to set themselves free, to dare, and to live out their dreams—just as we dared to live out ours.
